Dr. Karim Tobich
Biography
Dr. Karim Tobich, PhD and CISSP-certified, has nearly two decades of experience in security, cybersecurity, and risk management. He began his career in the semiconductor industry, designing and evaluating secure elements with a focus on hardware security, cryptography, side-channel analysis, and machine learning. His work contributed to highly secure systems for identity management, access control, telecommunications, e-passports, and the payments sector.
Over time, he expanded his expertise to IoT, embedded systems, and cloud services (SaaS), gaining comprehensive skills in strategic cybersecurity risk consulting. His approach emphasizes designing and implementing security programs that are aligned with business objectives, while ensuring resilience and vigilance against emerging threats.
Since 2019, Dr. Tobich has served as an international expert member of ISO/IEC Subcommittees on Information Security, Cybersecurity, and Privacy Protection, as well as contributing to ISO/IEC Subcommittees on IoT and Digital Twins. He also actively participates in various organizations addressing information security management, risk governance, business continuity, system interoperability, IoT, and digital twins.
He is a co-author of reports and academic papers, co-chair of several committees, and co-editor of international standards such as ISO/IEC 27003 and ISO/IEC 27028, reinforcing his influence in shaping global cybersecurity frameworks.
